Man I love my AC right now. Saw the R134 clouds on their way out, drove 18 hours in the Washington desert in 95 degree weather in a black car with not a cloud in the sky.

Just got back from the local, reputable, open-on-Saturday garage. Crack in the condenser, compressor puked, that means a new receiver/dryer. Their quote for labor and parts was $1600. Her KBB value (like I'd sell a family member) is $2500. I can get the parts for ~$350, maybe less from Dad's shop back in Grand Rapids, but labor's still gonna kill me.

There goes the spare saved money for EDIS bracket fabrication, there goes future savings for the engine swap. I'm not going to improve what's degrading without fixing what's broken first. Argh.
